Frank Lowy landed on his head after missing a step as he climbed a specially constructed platform to hand the A-League trophy to Melbourne Victory
The A-League trophy presentation after Melbourne Victory's defeat of Sydney did not go quite according to plan on Sunday, with Football Federation Australia chairman Frank Lowy falling from the stage! This happened just moments before the trophy was about to be handed to Victory captain Mark Milligan.
Lowry had made his way up to the stage, but failed to see a step and promptly fell straight off the platform and onto the turf below.
The 84-year-old landed awkwardly on his head and concerned players and staff members immediately rushed to his aid.
However, Lowy is clearly made of sterner stuff, with the FFA supremo taking his fall in his stride and getting back to his feet with the minimum of fuss.
