The midfielder was shown a red card in the first half of Monday's game after kicking a ball at Chris Brunt
Cesc Fabregas’ hopes of beating Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists this season were ended on Monday night after the Chelsea midfielder was sent off against West Brom.
The Spaniard was given a straight red card by referee Mike Jones after kicking a ball in frustration at West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt.
Fabregas' dismissal means he will miss Chelsea's final game of the season against Sunderland and will finish on 18 assists for the season - two behind Henry's record which was set in the 2002-03 campaign.
Jose Mourinho's side, who have already secured the Premier League title, were trailing by time of Fabregas' sending off after Saido Berahino opened the scoring in the ninth minute.
