Buhari Will Punish Electoral Offenders – Amaechi
Mohammadu Buhari has vowed to bring electoral offenders to justice
Governor Amaechi, according to Vanguard, sounded the note of warning on Sunday, May 17, in Port Harcourt during a thanksgiving service to show appreciation to God for his kindness throughout the election period.
In his address, the governor urged supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to prepare a strong legal case against those who may have carried out electoral manipulations during the general elections.
He cautioned them to desist from thinking that the incoming administration of Mohammadu Buhari will clamp people in prison without due course.  Noting that Mohammadu Buhari is a democrat and a man who had respect for the rule of law.

The governor said as a democrat Buhari will not punish any one without due process. He however assured them that every one found guilty of electoral malpractice or the other will be brought to book.
Amaechi who was in company of Dr Dakuku Peterside, Rivers gubernatorial candidate of the APC, also urged the people of the state not to be downcast by the resent electoral set back in the state. He called on them to put their hope in God and pray for the party, state and the nation.
In the same vein, the Rivers state chapter of the APC has released a statement calling  on all those allegedly behind the bungled Rivers state general elections to get ready to go to prison.
The party said the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers state and the state resident electoral commissioner (REC), Mrs. Gesila Khan should prepare to pay for allegedly truncating the democratic process in the state during the 2015 general elections.
